Chris Leib [Biography]
Empire is a narrative discussion of social evolution, disturbed expectations, imperial overreaching to effect change with unexpected results.

When one thinks of "still-life", Chris Leib's tendency is to redirect preconceived notions of what "still-life" means by presenting unplanned for conclusions. This is his approach to much of his work, whether figurative, still-life or landscape... and with masterful technical execution.

And, as in the case with much of Chris' work, no description can convey as much as a viewer's own personal observations and reactions. So it's recommended that the above commentary only be seen as a possible key to exploring this painting.
